“The strongest hearts have the most scars”
أقوى القلوب لديها أكثر الندوب
Look closely at the lion and you are reading a sentence. Every stroke of the mane, the jaw and the roar is a letter from the Arabic phrase “the strongest hearts have the most scars”. Nothing is decoration. Remove a single word and the animal falls apart.
This is zoomorphic Arabic calligraphy, a centuries-old art in which a master calligrapher bends written words into a living form. Our calligrapher spent weeks on this lion, balancing legibility against anatomy, until the phrase and the animal became one thing.
The lion has always stood for strength. We wanted to ask a harder question: where does strength come from? The answer in the words is scars.
The battles that mark us hardest are the ones nobody sees. This lion wears its scars openly. Its mane, its power, its whole presence is built from the admission that it has been hurt, and survived. Strength that came from struggle, worn on the outside.
Mental health is the quietest crisis in the country, and it is closest to home for men, who are the least likely to talk about it.
The people who seem strongest are often the ones carrying the most. The friend who always shows up. The one who holds everyone else together, asks how you are, and never quite says how they are. That is who this design recognises. The strongest hearts have the most scars, and most of those scars sit where nobody can see them.
Unseen does not mean absent. The steadiest people around us go through these battles quietly, and so do we. The lion simply says it in the open: the scars were always there, and there is no shame in them being seen.
That is why every Last Roar piece funds mental health support. Wearing it puts the unspoken into the open, for anyone who needs to know they are not the only one.
Our pledge: 10% of profits from every The Last Roar piece is donated to a registered charity working on mental health support, reported openly after each drop.
The The Last Roar will be available on hoodies, tees and crewnecks. Join the waiting list and you will hear first.
